so i just plugged in my RG350 and realised that it was hella noisy. and that if i tapped the body then it would come out through the amps as a loud echoey tapping noise.

i tapped the headstock.. same thing!?!

i dont remember my guitar sounding like that but then i never really tried tapping it until now.. also if i tap my amp while its turned on with no guitar plugged in it makes a similar noise.

so what the hells going on??

Did this ever happen before? Try muting your strings and tap it, if there's no notable song, its normal.

ive tried that already yeah and there was alot of noise ringin out :/ i had a look around and it would appear the pickup has gone microphonic. if i just leave the guitar then it will start to whistle and howel with feedback.

looks like i need a new bloody pickup

it seems to only do it with the bridge pickup. im pretty sure its gone microphonic.

edit: well it does it a lil bit with the other piuckups but no way near as intense as with the bridge one.

im talking about the noise when i tap it etc. the howling noise is only from the bridge pickups

swap the cable and check the input jack wires first before you swap out a pup.

i swapped the cable and it made no difference. heres the deal.

i just tried a different amp. its the same issue so its not my amp thats the problem.

on both amps, if i tap the neck of the guitar on any pickup, with the strings muted, noise comes out the amp. im guessing thats normal.

on the bridge pickup, its louder, and more noisy when being played etc. and on the clean chanel, its ALOT louder than the other pickups and even sounds distorted on the clean chanel.

so with that in mind what the hell is going on!?!
