Well...

Some of you may be sad to hear it, but I traded my H&K Warp X away last night

It was an awesome amp, I just wasn't using it much anymore. The only amp I really use is my Vetta and the 6100 is too unique to get rid of.

But, I did get something very hawt out of it...

I like my other 7 String so much... I decided I'd pick something up a little more high end, without a trem, I hate working with trems

Carvin DC727:

Mahogany wings
5 Piece Neck - Maple and Walnut
Flamed Koa Top
Gold Hardware
Coil tapping switches
Ebony board
Stainless steel frets
Strap locks
Sperzel locking tuners

Pictures are the ones the guy sent me, I didn't feel like taking my own pictures lol.

This guitar is awesome. I'm kinda depressed though... my RG7620 plays great, but it doesn't sound nearly as good as the Carvin does... the reason I was looking to get rid of the H&K was because it didn't really sound that good at all with the 7 string... Then when the guy tried the Carvin through it last night...

Oh well, can't have both!

Very nice! How do you like the Koa in combination with the other woods? Koa's suppose to be an amazing tonewood but I have yet to hear it in person.

I've never played an all Koa guitar, but I have to say, this thing is AWESOME. It's very articulate, first guitar I've ever owned where I can play with tons of gain and still hear the notes in chords without it all becoming mush lol.

It completely puts my RG7620 to shame

HNGD! That is beautiful! Only 2 things about that guitar I dont like: block inlays and gold hardware. For some reason I cant stand the look of gold on any natural finish.

Holy Mother! That's a fucking nice Koa top! Congrats!

How much did that beast set you back? Just very curious.

I traded my H&K Warp X head for it. The last Warp that sold on eBay went for $1000... but a guy on HC sold one a few weeks ago for $675

Really? I can't see anything else looking good on that finish The only other guitars I like gold hardware on, besides natural finishes, are all black with white binding Les Pauls.

It does look pretty good on this with the Koa, but I've never really been a fan of gold. Except with Les Pauls too, but all white not black

I'd say it was a good choice getting rid of the Warp X. I haven't actually played it, but I hear it's just a more compressed, distorted version of the Trilogy - which isn't something to write about anyway.

Congrats.

How is the DW5002's coming along? Have you got them yet?
