How would i go about say playing acoustic and singing over it? How would i coordinate it?

Practice, practice, practice. Make sure you can play the riff in your sleep before you try to sing over it. Start slow, and practice!

try to do this, you'll get it with time and PRACTICE

make an easy pattern and try to sing on the down beat when you strum the chords. Go slow and just try it. It was hard for me at first but i got it after a month or so.

It's like playing the drums. Some actions must become constant and second nature (generally the hi-hat), while others may vary (the bass drum, snare drums, toms, etc).

When I learnt, I just broke each bar down slowly and made sure I could concentrate on my singing without even thinking about the guitar part.
