I saw it on the US site, just checked. Probably some legal issues regarding the license from the original explorer or something. Well, that suck. They're suck cool guitars.
I'm pretty sure though, that if you're famous enough, you could still get your hands on a fresh one direct from ESP CustomShop (see: hetfield)
