hey UG im a fender person (tele) when i get a job i wana save up for a new guitar and amp.
most guitars i see i dont really like the looks of i love tele's and the LP in a sunburst is really growing on me the gibsons are really expensive and i hate buying things that arnt branded im like that for everything i buy it has to be by the real company (acception to my squire tele coz i was on a budget and im jobless)
but the price is really high i could get my dream guitar a telecaster hotrod delux for less than what gibson are asking for =/

so i wana know is the quality of epiphones LP's any good i really want a good quality guitar but with it being a copy of the real thing would the quality be any worse?
or is there another brand that do LP copys that are better?

it depends which one you get... like every guitar company, some guitars aren't so great, others are incredible. you'll have to try it for yourself.

and why did you spell "quality" with a "g"?

EDIT: Epiphone is (now) owned by Gibson, so it's not really a copy per say

GUITARS CURRENTLY USED
Ibanez RG7621
Ibanez RG121
ESP LTD H-400

Epiphone's quality control is really sketchy. Sometimes you'll get a great one, other times you'll get a really, really, bad one. YOu gotta try out a lot.
Breaking stereotypes by playing indie on a metal guitar.

Current Gear
- Epiphone Les Paul Standard (Plus Top)
- Crappy Strat Copy (Redecorated, looks snazzy)
- Ibanez Acoustic/Electric Guitar
- Ibanez RG1570 Mirage Blue
- Peavey Vypyr 30 Watt

Epiphone is for Gibson as what Squier are for Fender.
And also epiphone guitars are pretty good. And you can Mod them to match the gibson for a ****load less.

but epiphone, ya i agree you have to play it. but then i feel that way about gibson too. not great quality control on either end.
give em a look a guitar shop see if you like.

epiphone quality is great compared to squier. and they arent copies either, ive read about people who believe epiphones higher end guitars are equal to gibson

personally i dislike epiphones, they just feel akward to me and not just the LPs but all of them. ive played quite a few different models at several guitar stores and i cant see what the hype is all about. basically your paying to have a guitar that says les paul on it, its not actually about build quality.

Epiphones are good guitars, but do not buy the low end ones!
Epiphone G-400
Roland Cube 30X

They don't feel or sound like a good LP should, not even the good ones (which are probably 2 or 3 guitars out of 100, 'cause I've played MANY Epis and I still have to find a good one).

Try other brands, they'll probably be better and cheaper.
- Fender American Standard Ash Telecaster w/ DiMarzio Chopper T & Twang King
- Alhambra 5P
- Laney Lionheart L5T-112
- Line 6 POD XT
- Suhr Shiba Drive
- MXR Carbon Copy Analog Delay
- Dunlop Cry Baby
