IMO, best 'football' player, would probably be C.Ronaldo, Kaka or Ronaldinho.

All I know about this thread is that TS mispelt Jimi Hendrix in his sig.
There may be times when it is impossible to prevent injustice, but there should never be a time when we fail to protest it.

Some people might say u r missing a certain Thierry Henry- He was awsome for Arsenal.
I said Zidane.
Some of those players are noobs. They are awsome, but havnt been around for too long-e.g. Messi.

*Gasp* OMG! you misspelt Gerrards name. His my favourite player. Sacrilege.

i voted beckham. i'm not much of a soccer fan but here are my reasons:

1: he turned more people onto the sport, especially in America.

2: he draws in a ridiculous amount of money in America.

3: even though he's super rich from the move, hes absolutely nothing for the team. even when he doesn't show up he still is filthy rich and quickly welcomed back...

its disgusting...

You mean, the same David Beckham that was booed, jeered and verbally abused because he decided he wanted to play at the world's joint most successful club rather than a team that used to play at the Pizza Hut stadium?

And besides, the idiots at LA Galaxy didn't really welcome him back ;

On topic : Henry or Bergkamp for me. Bergkamp was an absolute genius, I have not seen anyone like him that could do what he could do with a football. And Thierry Henry, was, at his peak, probably the best striker for.. well a very, very long time.

Zidane, he's one of my all time fav. players, he was just so elegant with the ball. And because he ****ing headbutted that one guy

i dont really keep up with this stuff, but the national news that i heard said his first game back majority of the people were excited. until he sucked that game, did absolutely nothing for the team.

thats the last i heard so i dont doubt the booing if it came later...

You mean this Gerard?

And I voted for Ronaldinho. I would have voted Shearer but he didn't really contribute that much this decade.

It'd be hard to go past C. Ronaldo, a winger who contributed to a team goal wise more than any of the strikers playing for that team or any other teams wingers'.

Next decade prediction : Karim Benzema

I would say Richard Hughes... because I met him once. But if he was on the poll I'd vote for David James for re-starting his international career with us, pretty much.

I voted for Messi.

Where's Figo?!

Also, notice how there are no German players in that poll? Germany seriously needs some top players up there.

Next decade you'll hear about Marko Marin, Toni Kroos, and Ozil.

I hope.

ROONEH! ROONEH!

...

I'd probably say C.Ronaldo but I think it's pretty hard to say because I think Steven Gerrard is pretty good too.

I would love to say Zidane but he retired in 2002 so he misses out on most of this decade.

My top 3 would probably be Cristiano Ronaldo, Ronaldinho, and Thierry Henry.
They have all been consistent over multiple seasons this decade.
#39
I voted for Gerrard purely 'cos he's my favourite out of them.. probably christiano has been the best.

I think Zidane had the biggest effect this decade. Followed closely by Beckham and Ronaldinho.
