Ok guys so i have a dilemma...

I love my RG 420, great guitar, but personally the sound im getting outta it seems to suck ass lately. I want a better tone...simple as that, the cleans are OK, the crunch is eh...the metal is well...it's not that bad, but I simply want it better.

SOOO....because of this i have been thinking about upgrading, selling, or trading for it.

I kinda want a realistic estimate for some solid sounding high gain pickups, and if any of you floyd rose dudes out there can tell me what i can swap my Edge pee (III) out for in terms of really good floating trems, and about how much that would cost

Or if i should just sell it/trade it to get one of these things

now for the mush, yes i do love that guitar...many a first on that thing. It was my first "good" guitar, so that's why modding it wouldn't be that much of a stretch.

i have about 200-250 to play with...

Thanks...

this is absolutely, 100% correct.
For example, Dave Mustaine has a signature coffee mix.

take the money, save up $360 and get a B52 AT 112. your tone will improve a lot and you'll find that RG sounding a lot better

Sounds good...

But i am still kinda in the mood for some mods, the stocks on this thing are ok, but nothing amazing.

What kind of pickups (passive would be cool, active just as cool) would ya recommend???

I am looking for a clean, yet heavy distortion, ala Vital Remains, Ensiferum, and Wintersun

It's still gonna sound like crap after you change the pickups. It's your amp not the guitar. Like 90% of your tone comes from your amp and your amp and pedal is very crap

When it comes to practicing, I would spend about 63 hours a day

Change topic then

Amp recommendations, in this case budget is upped to 600

Used Peavey 5150/6505, as I'm assuming you like to play metal
