after what happened in my personal life last night, ive been wanting to listen to some real melancholy-type music, but all i know of/have in my collection is From Autumn To Ashes' "No Trivia" and the lyrics arent exactly fitting to the situation.
so can you guys suggest me some please? thanks.
EDIT: stuff that sounds somewhat like this

A lot of John Frusciante's solo work has melancholy lyrics like
Untitled 3
Anne
My Life
Time Tonight
Smile From The Streets You Hold
Dying Song

Just find random songs off of youtube of his and you might find some things that you really like.

Edit:
Yesterday - The Beatles

Pure Narcotic by Porcupine Tree is one of my favourite songs to listen to when I'm feeling down. A lot of Porcupine Tree songs are good for this actually.

its not so much that im feeling down, its more like "life" has finally made me think about and accept things i didnt necessarily want to before.

Jawbreaker
Brand New
Some Alkaline Trio stuff can be good, especially songs off Good Mourning and/or sung by Dan (the bassist).
Bloc Party has some good stuff
David Bowie can be pretty melancholy at times

Jawbreaker and Brand New are probably the best though, so I'm mentioning them again.
