So I am just about to swirl my guitar body and I put a tiny bit of borax to make sure it dissolves but it just sunk straight to the bottom. Do I need to use warm water or is it alright if it just goes to the bottom?

more borax? paint thinner. the right kind of paint etc. you need to be more specific with what steps youve already taken. that and go to the painting thread.. youll get more help there. all that awaits you here is links to said thread XD

TS you sound like you havent tested this on scrap first, swirling is a process that takes a while to perfect.

Heres the first procedure to try...

Warm water, dissolve a fair amount of borax,

add cold water and stir,

let it sit for a while ensuring water is cold, then swirl

If you swirl directly onto warm water the paint will dry instantly and the job will be ruined.
