New MGMT.

Now I'm completely straight, but I get hard-ons from watching Andrew VanWyngarden or watever the hell is name is.
I want to work in revelations, not just spin silly tales for money.I want to fish as deep down as possible into my own subconscious in the belief that once that far down, everyone will understand because they are the same that far down.

Retribution - Shadows Fall
Black Give Way To Blue - Alice in Chains
Endgame - Megadeth

Has anyone heard SF's new song, "King of Nothing?" Thoughts? I personally thought it sounded pretty good; kind of like a mix of The War Within and The Threads of Life. But i'd really like to see more The Art of Balance/Of One Blood type stuff. But it sounds promising.

I was excited for Mars Volta and Portugal. The Man. They both delivered. I was excited for the Dead Weather. They didn't.

Now I'm excited for both Outkast solo records, and the Outkast record. Plus, the new Flaming Lips.

What was wrong with the Dead Weather, I just got it and thought it was really interesting. It strayed to a darker side of what we're accustomed to hearing from Jack White, but you could hear his influence in the writing. Hearing Alison wail on the vocals with Jack cutting in during his frantic drumming is just awesome....But Volta was pretty damn good.

And new Outkast?!!??

Most if it just bores me for some reason. It isn't so much that it's a bad one, I just don't think it's as good as the White Stripes or the Raconteurs. That said, if I had it my way, Jack White would have released a collaboration with Beck.

Ya, the last 3 Stripes and the last Rac's album have just been incredible....But Beck+White, that could get interesting....I'm still wondering if Pearl Jam and Jack are going to collaborate because I remember Mike McCready saying he wanted to do something with him...

the cribs - ignore the ignorant
muse - the resistance
four year strong - explains it all (it's out, but i haven't got it yet)
four year strong - next original album (this one is all 90s covers)

other ones this year that delivered:

the horrors - primary colours
a day to remember - homesick (might have been last year)
the prodigy - invaders must die (same as above)
enter shikari - common dreads
My name is Danny. Call me that.

I think the Jack/Beck collaboration would be better so long as the Dust Brothers are involved in some way.
