One of those crazy birthers. She says that even if Obama proved he was a natural born citizen it wouldn't matter because his dad wasn't a citizen of the US and therefore unable to be president. so ridiculous

What do you guys think of this whole birther movement?

These people are pathetic. My best friends Dad is basically one of those sore-losers. He's chill, but the one time i talked politics with him, i almost got shot.

Conclusion? They're stupid, sore-losin', whitebread republican mongoloids.

There not going to remove him from office even if he isn't a citizen (Which he is). They'd never admit they let a non citizen slip through the system and become one of, if not the most, powerful man on the planet.

thats to become governor of a state, i think. its either that or the senate or congress, one of them, but i think you only have to live here for 8 for one of those.

By that logic nobody could be president because at some point everyone's decedents were born in another country!

The law is that if you are born here you are a citizen...simple as that.

To be fair, he still hasn't proven himself (to my knowledge) a citizen and anyone who questions his citizenship is labeled a "crazy, sore loser" or a racist for not wanting a black president.

But the thing about his father not being a natural born citizen doesn't matter, so the woman on the Colbert Report didn't know what she's talking about.

No, you need to be a citizen BY birth. By jus sanguinis(right of blood) or jus soli(right of soil). Born abroad to 1 or 2 US Citizens, or Born on U.S soil, this includes U.S territories(Guam, Puerto Rico, etc,) or US Military bases.

Hmmm, good thing us in Canada don't give much of a **** about that. My local MP was born in the Netherlands, and the leader of the federal Green Party was born in Maine or something like that. Honestly, why these people seem to give so much of a crap about splitting hairs about how American Obama is, is beyond me. Like was already said, I'm just going to assume that this is all about being sore losers/butthurt.

Because his father wasn't a US citizen, he can't have been born abroad and still be eligible for the presidency. However, since he was born in Hawaii, this doesn't matter. Apparently, however, Hawaii isn't American enough for some people...

Yes it is proven that he was born here. That's why I think this whole birther thing is so ridiculously stupid. They keep insisting that he was born in Kenya despite the evidence to the contrary.

As far as I knew even a month into his term he hadn't provided a birth certificate. By then I stopped caring, he's already "the new Jesus". It's hard to argue with the majority, and an issue of whether he's a natural-born-citizen wouldn't be worth fighting regardless of whether or not he's proven himself.

He has. They've reviewed his birth certificate more than once. The chief editor of politico just did an interview on NPR yesterday about this again, and about the origins of the rumor.

It's false. I don't think people questioning it are crazy, only that if they still believe it that they are ignorant. The man interviewed yesterday said something to the affect of: Either they know they are wrong or they're in a bad place.

Also for all of you who don't know the criteria for being president. You have to be born in the U.S. 35 years old or older and lived in the country for a certain length of time.

The people who started the rumor in the first place have begun to make an argument that first generation American aren't allowed to become President. However that's just not true.

Obama is rightfully president. Good or bad. He's legitimate.

Also isn't Colbert satire? i don't watch T.V, but I'm pretty sure it is isn't it?

Sorry for the double post

It's been reviewed. They even have documentation from local newspapers and the hospital on his birth.

The birth certificate is public record. He doesn't need to give it too someone and say "I am applying for the US Presidency." If you want it go search public records. Actually no, here it is, just to save you time:
