I have been playing guitar for right around a year and a half, and I am currently jammin with some friends, and ive come to realize that I am not very creative.

I am going to go ahead and blame it on my lack of knowledge in musical theory, but I could be wrong.

I was wondering if someone had a general direction that they could point me, but don't suggest getting a teacher.
Anybody have any good websites that are very clear about things, Ive checked a couple but they were confusing.
Thanks.

I can't imagine anything worse than shagging to Mark Knopfler.

Maybe shagging Mark Knopfler, but that's about it.

Theory without creativity isn't going to make a significant difference. Learning it would make it easy for people with creativity that don't know how to express their ideas. I suggest you look into new genres of music you've never listened to before.
