Hey all,
Im gonna start recording some songs pretty soon and I was looking at what mics to get. I dont have a lot of money so I am thinking about this... http://www.guitarcenter.com/Nady-USB-24M-USB-Microphone-272015-i1174905.gc

would that be ok? i play a lot of heavy metal style of music and i dunno if that would pick up the loudness of my playing. also, i just use audacity for the recording. so were talking very basic stuff here... just plug into my computer and play basically.

Thanks in advance for any help!

*edit* i just want to record guitar... i dont sing

or maybe spend a little more and get http://www.guitarcenter.com/Blue-Snowflake-USB-Microphone-271267-i1391037.gc ??

get a shure sm57

This. If you want to record to a computer, get a recording interface aswell. I use a Tascam US-122 it works a charm.
I believe you don't even need phantom power for an SM-57 but look into that yourself.
