Ok there are threads for german bands and the like.. However, I wanted to know about some metal bands from Europe that have lyrics in their native tongue, other than the Scandinavian bands.

I only know about Drudkh who supposedly have lyrics in Ukranian, Sanskrit and Latin.. Any german, french or say, spanish metal bands that sing in their native tongue?

Subgenres of metal that I prefer are death, black and progressive.. Also Doom nowadays..

Non-English bands plz..

[EDIT] Sorry for not putting this up in the recommendation thread.. Didn't know there was a sticky thread for that..

Yes, Hacride is in English. Awesome though, don't see why you're restricting yourself to a certain language.

Patatje Metal, Dutch band, dutch lyrics.
They're basically just covering all the popular Dutch popsongs but transform them into metal.

It's good, and funny if you can understand it

Fluisterwoud (which means whisperforest) is a Dutch Metal band. Sort of black metal as I recall.

he's not, he wants bands in their native language, not just french. my guess is because its made more naturally and sounds different?

Iron Maiden sings in her mother tongue....

...

But OT, do you mind what kinda metal it is? 'Cause there are TONS of black/folk metal bands that sing in their native language, but well, if you're not into that..

Well, can't think of any, but try Rammstein? They sing in German?

I'm just saying, go listen to Hacride.

And there's a Dutch folk metal band called Heidevolk, sing in Dutch and are supposed to be quite good.

Well, they have some songs that are metal, and why are you looking for European bands anyways?
Because IF you want to hear some European bands to learn the language, Rammstein is the way to go. I mean, you can clearly hear what he's saying..

Too bad you're not looking for Scandinavian bands. There are TONS of bands that sing in a Scandinavian language..

As the previous poster said, have a look at NSBM?

Well I just want to have a feel of native french or german metal songs.. you know what i mean.. And fine, even scandinavian metal bands will do but I've heard to some songs and wanted to try somethin different..

And regarding Rammstein, their "metalness" maybe debatable.. But I've heard all their songs almost.. when I'm not listening to metal and prefer some hard rock, say, I'll mostly be listening to them..

I think what we can all take away from this is that people should be allowed to listen to whatever they want to as long as we're all the same religion.
