a good tube amp. Somewhere around $1000-$1500, not too much more. I'm looking for a low to mid gain combo amp. I really didn't get too much out of the thread that got posted as a column. I looked at the Orange Rocker 30 (actually I believe I played the Rockerverb 50 but it's not too different) and I think it sounded pretty good.

Just looking for a few suggestions to try out next time I'm at a guitar store.

any particular style you'll play?
Orange amps are very good from what I hear.
Maybe look into VOX AD30VT or whatever it is...the high-end 30watt one.

I work at a music store we just got a egnater rebel 30 in today. you could be the first to have one. I really love this amp. its $900
link I do not work for them just needed some kind of link.

I tried a rockverb 30 and its just as loud as that egnater. the rockverb is simple, sounds great, well made, no eq on the clean channel, thats actually a good thing if you like sound quality. but the reverb on the egnater is ridiculously good sounding. I even use a little reverb on the dirty channel, makes it sound like a full stack. the egnater wins. the rockverb has less features and cost $500 more.

I like the AC30 a lot more than the AD30. why would you want modelling when the AC30 sounds awesome. its a classic all tube sound. its a vox.

Randall RM50 with the Blackface and 1086 modules. Then get the 1086 mod'd by Pete Turley (okstrat on MTS forum) or Anthony (Salvation on MTS forum). Or you can try another module; listen to these clips:

Anthony's 1666: http://mtsforum.grailtone.com/viewtopic.php?t=7373

Idk what genre you prefer, but this module is great for any kind of metal. The Blackface is great for cleans.

There is a lot to be said about this amp, but i'll let you do the research, but if you have any questions, then feel free to ask.

Good Luck!

I just got a Hughes and Kettner Statesman Quad EL84 and it will easily handle the gain levels you're looking for and it has great cleans. Has reverb and an effects loop also and everything is footswitchable. I'm really loving mine. Maybe check them out if you can...

I got mine brand new from an authorized dealer for $950 shipped and no tax. PM me if you are interested and I'll tell you where I got it.

I actually meant the AC30. I just wasn't sure how it was called.

I haven't had a chance to get on the internet in the last couple of days. As far as playing style goes, I play a lot of blues rock, but I've been known to dabble in everything from funk to post-rock and occasionally stuff a little bit heavier.

Those links look promising so far.

personally i like the ac30 HH better, or whatever the combo amp is, I have the head, but I like it better than the normal ac30s, I thinkt he sound is more balanced, the only bummer about it is no master volume, but whatever, its a very loud amp lol, so breaking it up might make your ears bleed, but it has that perfect amount of headroom, also it is a bit more stripped down than the ac30cc series, which I also like, I beleive it's like 100 more expensive and on ebay I got the head for 1200 including shipping and I'm pretty sure I saw combos for only a bit more

The Carvin V3 combo man. It's the most versatile amp ever. It's 1,300 dollars. If you buy it though, YOU MUST get better tubes and get it rebiased because that unlocks its massive holy (#@%#@ potential and unleashes pure pwnage through it's 2 twelve inch speakers.

Or for 200 dollars more you can get the half stack with celestion v30's which i highly recommend instead.
