Didn't think this would go in the guitar wiring thread... so...

In a 4 12 cab, all 8 ohms speakers, each set was wired in series, then paralell with each other, that would have a total of 16 ohms correct?

This is a forum, for getting help. I have googled it, when paralell the impedance halves, and when series it adds to together, I posted this to make sure, if your not gonna give any useful information then please don't post.

Well then genius... please don't post if you already know the answer.
It's not rocket science....
Seriously... what did you expect?

Edit....
You are correct.

Does that make you feel better?

So is there anyway that I could wire them to get 16 ohms or do I need new speakers with different ohms.

Right on... the point that I was trying to make is that many around here simply don't know... you're better off looking for experts. Sure, there are a few around here, but you're better off on the net.

google ohms law. If you understand how it works then you can easily equate it to the guitar world.

Sorry if I bunched up your panties.... These kids asking questions that are easily answered with a bit of research are starting to get to me.

Hope all is well... honestly....

In order to have a four-speaker cab run at 16Ω, you would need either four 4Ω speakers in series, or four 16Ω speakers in series-parallel.

Alternatively, you could only hook up two of the 8Ω speakers (in series) for 16Ω total. That leaves you with unused speakers, but it is better than melting an amp.

^Thanks, yeah looks like I'm gonna have to only use two speakers for a little while.
