I am new to the whole home recording thing, and was wondering if this mixer http://www.alesis.com/multimix8usb could take the input channels, and record them onto separate tracks on a recording software. Also, what is the difference between that mixer and this one: http://www.alesis.com/multimix8usb20

If you guys have had any success recording with a usb mixer, let me know what it is, and i can check it out.

The second one has built-in effects.

I would just go for the standard one with some good software.

Depends on the software you are using.
