Okay, when i tune my guitar, i always end up having to tune the G string down a little to get it to sound normal.
Checked Intonation. it's correct.
Just changed batteries in tuner.
IT'S A GOOD tuner.
JUST put on new strings
idk what's wrong.

it sounds good when i'm playing in the lower strings and middle strings (chords or simple notes), but when i try to make a barre chorde using the top 4 strings, it's outta tune. =/
so i have to downtune it a little for it to sound normal.

i DO tend to put more pressure on the frets than i should.
Seeing as my guitar has jumbo frets on it, could it be that since the G isn't wound, maybe it's just bending down more than the other strings? Making it sound out of tune?

The more you press on a string the more it 'bends' if you like....so yea, putting more pressure on a string will make it sound out of tune.

If you fret each note in the chord separately and not with too much pressure like you say you tend to do and they're all clean, that's your issue.

Happened to me on the G string as well.
My problem was that the fret write got worn out.
Maybe check that.

Would it help to get strings where the G is wound?
