Nooo! Not a Frontman!

At your budget, I'd recommend a Peavey or a Blackstar, but it depends on what you play.

If you don't need a clean channel, take a look at the Peavey Windsor.

Peavey windsor. and why do you need 100 watts? gigging?

Windsors can clean up real nice. use the low-gain input and turn the gain low. and there you go, very clean, then use a pedal for distortion.

you're not gonna want to take a dump in a gross, off-colored, vintage toilet. you want something that is white and pearly; something that shines. something that you can put your cheeks against and say, "f*** yeah"

why do you need it so loud ? at this price range you cant really get good sounding 100w amp... and if you gig, you can always connect small amp to PA

Do you want a solid state amp? Cos if you do I think you could probably gig with just 50 watts. How big will your gigs be?

hey i want a compo not a head like Peavey Windsor.

Quote by Regensgeliebte
why "no head+cab"?

Yeah, why not a stack? Sounds better than a combo IMO.
And the price of the Windsor also includes the cab.

where do they sell it both cab and head

I'm assuming it's a really small place if your gigging? You don't really need a 100W if your going tube, I think 40W would be enough if not too much.

So a crappy tube amp will sound much better then a great solid state amp? This isn't always true, and judging from your post, please get off the bandwagon.

100 watts and over is not needed, even for solid state amps, until you're gigging big venues. 60-80 watts for solid state is good enough, and 30-50 watts for tube is good enough for smaller-medium sized gigs.

For $350, I'd go used. Look into Peaveys (Vypyr, Bandit) Line 6's (Flextone's) or Roland's (Cube series).

Also, look into Vox's Valvetronix series.

sir, conscious person would never say that crappy tube amp can be better than SS amp. why flaming the guy?

though your rest of post is 100% right

i am very sure that TS doesnt need 100 watts. getting a chance to gig in venue which needs 100 watts (even SS, let alone tube) is almost impossible without knowing at least something about gear.

you'd better tell us more about your playing expierience. you said you want to practice - 100w for practice is like using morgue refrigerator to freeze ice cream

Because clearly he is biased to tube amps. I guess it depends on how you read the comment. That's how I read it.

And I'm not flaming him. If I was flaming him I would have said a much harsher comment like calling him a dumb f***.

what do u think?
should i getvt50 vox?

If you like the sound of it. But try it out. The VT is a hybrid amp which means the pre amp is tube and the power amp is solid state.

Personally, I don't like the Valvetronix, but to each his own

Edit: and JesusCrisp was just making a generalization. It's true that MOST tube amps sound better, andthe vast majority of pros use them, with a few exceptions (Including Dimebag)
I hate my sig

Hey, I got a Marshall MG100DFX...
Not sure how much they are in dollars, I live in England

hard to get a decent sound out of it without a distortion pedal, but the onboard effects are great!
