What is your amp?

And honestly, I doubt you're gonna get a good heavy metal sound out of a Fender Esquire, NWOBHM at most really. If you haven't, then I suggest changing your pick-up to something modern sounding like a Seymour Duncan Hot Rail.

i use a boss MT-2 metal zone. its a little hard to get used to but afterwards you can get amazing distortion from it. any tone you want from it, its just not an od pedal. the pedal alone is a little stocky, so you might want to check out the robert keely mod, or get a ibanez ts808 to give it bite

BUG, DONT GET ANY PEDALS OR SWAP YOUR PICKUPS!!!

You'll be wasting your money. Pedals and pickups will do absolutely nothing for you.

Stick with what you have - practice - and save your money for a decent amp.

NO!

Why when all the noobs see a the metal zone they think that MUST be good for metal, I mean it's written on it! why!
This pedal is terrible don't get it, heard me, DON'T

Yeah, both the Spider and the MT-2 are bad, I suggest you save up for a better amp, pedals aren't going to help you with a spider.
