My new baby is an Ernie Ball Music Man Axis Supersport.
Quilted Top in Translucent Blue.
Birdseye Maple Neck.
Rosewood Fretboard with matching headstock.
Born on 4/17/2001 (older than my strat, but in MUCH better shape)

My only mod is the Graphite Saddles.

Maybe it's just the finish or the light or whatever... But does the neck look like rotted to anyone else?

That's Birdseye Maple. Plus, Music Man guitars have no finish on thier necks. Left bare, treated with Gunstock Oil and Wax. VERY nice and smooth neck. You have to try one, you'll love it.

Very nice guitar TS;

Thanks, they're the stock pups that came with it. Spec sheet says they are custom dimarzios. I don't know any details of that.
Here's the stats on their website.

Hmm, never looked at it that way. But now that you mention it, it does look like a swimming pool, or a nice clear blue lagoon in Hawaii. Thanks!

LOL, Got 'er for $1037 (including ship) from Ebay.
EXCELLENT shape, only 2 very tiny flaws (none on the gorgeous top).
NO noteable fretwear. Guy I bought it from said (probably BS to sell it) he was 2nd owner, and he was friends with the 1st owner. Both were collector types with over a dozen of them. So it was rarely played.
B.S. or not, I don't know. But the fact of NO fretwear tells me it's true, or was refretted.
If it was refretted, they did a damn good job.

This is my proof that you CAN buy good guitars sight unseen on ebay.
I researched plenty, and heard NO negative opinions of Ernie Ball Quality.
Everyone is pleased with the quaility of their guitars, so I took a shot.
Very happy!!!

I LOVE the gunstock oil and wax treatment on the neck. Can't explain it, you have to try one. So smooth and fast, it's unreal.

+1!!! i bought a peavey wolfgang standard off of ebay about a year ago and it was an awesome guitar. one tiny paint chip (that i already knew about) and that was it. i don't know why so many people make a big deal about buying off ebay. just contact the seller and ask all your questions then. most people are just legitimately trying to sell quality guitars.

ANYWAY happy new guitar day, dude! i love that color. the only thing i don't like it the trem if it's not a floyd i'd rather have a stoptail
#22
Thanks Bullet.

To each his own, no hard feelings but I can never understand these kind of stereo types.

if it's not a floyd i'd rather have a stoptail

A properly setup standard strat style trem works just fine.

Combine these 4 things.
1. Properly setup tremolo (I use 2 springs, claw slightly anged for more tension on bass side)
2. Locking Tuners (or strings properly wrapped in the tuning pegs)
3. Graphite Saddles
4. Well lubed nut slots (I use vaseline, but they make stuff called NutSauce for that)

Works great, stays in tune just fine.

The blue color is really nice, looks like a pool in Hawaii or something. Far too bright for a guitar though imo.
I know it's Birds Eye Maple but the neck looks leprotic lol.
Anyway, grats man

That is extremely nice man, I've played one of those and they're absolutely wonderful guitars, I am officially envious.
