I'm trying to learn Rock N Rule by Emery: http://www.ultimate-guitar.com/tabs/e/emery/rock-n-rule_tab.htm , I need help on the chord on the third staff, the one that is

eb|0
Bb|0
Gb|5
Dd|5
Ab|3
Dd|

How am I supposed to know which way to play that? It says repeat each chord 16x, do I strum all down strokes or down/up down/up?

Another example is http://www.ultimate-guitar.com/tabs/p/paramore/misery_business_ver4_tab.htm , at chorus pt1. (0:50) for the rhythm guitar.

I don't think the picking really matters.. just play what's easiest for you

you just play it how it sounds in the song. It doesn't really matter how you stroke it as long as you play how it sounds and get it done lol

Yeah, tabs are great, unfortunately most of the time they can't tell you the rhythm (they do attempt to though sometimes). Really you just have to listen to the song and try and emulate the strumming pattern. It might take a while but you'll get the hang of it (listen for the down strums which in my opinion are the easiest to hear)

Yeah this was really confusing me, I listened to the song and I'm pretty sure it's all downstrokes. Thanks

All downstrokes will sound have a more even attack and sound "heavier". Each strum sounds the same. If you go Up/Down, each strum will sound slightly different but it will be easier to reach higher speeds, and it's good for lighter songs.
Good Luck.
