I'll be getting an amp soon, my first choice was Peavey Valveking 112. After the upgrades and the new speaker and an EQ, the price was about $650. Is there anything better in that price range I should look into? btw, I like Rock, Blues, and Metal. Thanks

There are probably better things out there, although I hear the Valveking is awesome after a speaker upgrade. You could PM 311 about it, he just put in a new speaker in his.

You can also look into

Peavey Classic 30

-Silvertone Kentucky Blue
-MXR CC Delay
-Ibanez TS-9
-Egnater Rebel 20
-Avatar 1x12

I think for $600 I want something with a little more power. Any ideas?

Why do you need more power?

30 Watts Tube is plently loud for gigging. I agree with the Classic 30 suggestions.

Then you would want something around the 30 watt mark...

If you get a 120 watt amp, the 'sweet spot' is going to be louder than the sweet spot on a 30 watt amp. By the time you get to the sweet spot on the 120 watt amp, it may be too loud, whereas on a 30 watt, it wont. (I said may, as i havent cranked a 120 watt amp, and didnt want to state it as fact)

Have you ever cranked a 30 watt tube amp?

Used VK - $250
MXR M-108 EQ - $120
WGS Veteran 30 speaker - $60
DigiTech Bad Monkey - $50

You're looking at maybe $500 on all that. You definitely won't need a Metal Zone with that setup, either.

I read some of the reviews and I wanted to know if there was anything else as good with a pretty good gain channel? The one on the classic was kinda dull as said by everybody.
