Would it damage a 7 or 8-string guitar to fit only the top 6 with a different gauge and tune them down?

For example, with an 8-string. The two low strings (F#, B) remain the same, but I put 11's or 12's on the 6 higher strings and tune them to C# standard. Would the tension be off and twist the neck or anything? For selecting the gauge of strings, would I just go one gauge up per half-step? (e.g. 9's to 12's for E to C#)

I wouldn't plan on keeping the guitar that way for long, so don't bother telling me that the overall tuning would be really weird

No, it would be fine.

I've had my 7 string tuned AbDbAbDbGbF#BbEb for months.

Nah, I don't mean tuning the whole thing down, but having two different string gauges on and having the two low strings tuned to E standard with 9's and having the six "regular" strings tuned to C# standard with 12's
