Recently me and some friends have created a band but we can't all agree on which songs to play. We made a list of songs to see what people would like for us to play/ would be good for us to play. Our band should be capable of playing most of these songs. We are a 4man band with 2 guitars, 2 vocalists ,bass and drums.
It will help us greatly if you can pick 7 songs from this list that would be good for a new band.

Aerials – System of a Down
Breakdown – Breaking Benjamin
Californication – Red Hot Chili Peppers
Come as You Are – Nirvana
Close Yet Far – cKy
Cult of Personality – Living Colour
Cyanide – Metallica

write your own songs
other than that...
Walk, Miss Murder, Scream, Holy Diver (Do The Killswitch version) and The Trooper.
They would probably be best to get in sync and working together and stuff

It would help to know what kinds of music each of you are into but anyway:

Strutter – Kiss
Holy Diver – Killswitch Engage version (cuz it rocks harder)
Everlong – Foo Fighters
Paint it Black – Rolling Stones
Number of the Beast – Iron Maiden
The Trooper – Iron Maiden
Monkey Wrench – Foo Fighters

Personally, those are the songs that I think will help you guys learn to play together well.

LOL, for some reason the impression I get from you is like some wacky Frank Zappa of metal pulling pranks at the Grammys and telling crude jokes during interviews.

I can't believe people actually recommend doing Holy Diver the Killswitch engage way.
Don't disgrace Dio.
Play it the way it's meant to be played.

i based these choices on ,
songs most well known by a large number of people , and quite easy to get the basics down , you could probally spend a lot of time learning 1 iron maiden tune and in the same time get the chord structure down for anumber of these tunes , and then get out and play them live asap .

i wouldnt even touch weezer my band played hashpipe and pork and bean the other night and and everyone was like wtf it killed the mood big time, and fat lip can only be done if theres a few of you signing theres a video of a band doing it on youtube and its just one singer and he ruins the song (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IipFs-Y5GxQ) not the one i was looking for but i think it gets my point across as good

Edit: all the songs i picked arnt too hard to play and most people will know them and if more people know them, the bigger your crowd will be and the better time you will have

oh man
i thought it was cool
was a good night like

anywho just so i'm not spamming and annoying everyone else on here, to the original guy, do songs by AAR, RHCP and Foo Fighters, they're quite popular bands so it'll help ease into it if its a crowd you dont really know, lots of people know those bands
once you're a few gigs in then start adding lesser well known songs
i reckon anyway
