I noticed that whenever I pick up a bass, I never know anything fun to play.

I need you guys to tell me a good song (preferably a punk song) that is fun to play on a bass.

I used to like playing the intro to Journey to the End of the East Bay by Rancid, check that out.
If music was the food of love I'd be a fat romantic slob.

I notice how not very many of these songs are very punk.

I'm adding mine to the not-very-punk list too, I really hate this song, but it's so damn catchy, A-Punk by Vampire Weekend.

most black sabbath songs, NIB war pigs, fairies wear boots. Les Zeppelin has alot of good basslines, and American Idiot was like the only punk song I've ever learned ( cousins request) it was kinda cool

Fire by The Jimi Hendrix Experience is pretty fun to play...

it won't harm the bass, but it will harm the children, and I for one love the children.

When i started playing bass i used to play these songs ... they are kinda punk.

A New Kind of Army - Anti-Flag
Ruby Soho/Time Bomb - Rancid

I also tried to play Journey to the End of the East Bay by rancid but i got all depressed that the tab i had didnt cover the fills and that i sucked too much to play it or figure it out so i quit.

Later on i learned to play Press Corpse by Anti Flag but i had to work on it for a while cause it was one of the faster more exhausting songs that i could pull off.

Was a fun bit of time for me
"Rome wasn't built in a week"

"Yeah but when they built rome, they didnt go "hey look, there's a functional building" AND ****ING KICK IT OVER AND PISS ON THE ASHES BECAUSE THE PEASANTS WERE CRYING THAT IT WAS TOO GLORIOUS AND AWESOME."

I wouldn't call what we have here on the Bass Forum a mentality. It's more like the sharing part of an AA meeting.

Longview by Green Day is rather fun to play, as is American Idiot. You should try some Green Day coz Mike Dirnt is a good bassist...

Try some blink-182

a good zeppelin song is the song remains the same
w/o bass n drums, there wouldn't really be rock music.

Schecter is pronounced 'Shek-ter', right? I don't want to walk in and say, "Hey, can I try out that Sketcher?" and have the helper reply with "Wtf, we don't sell shoes!"

you know why rabbits are smarter than cows?

fucking cows start moo-ing around for no reason, but rabbits keep their mouth shut until they actually have something to say.

god I hate cows.
