My laptop is completely dead, power supply or something. I need the files off the harddrive. I dont know how to get them!

I dont know much on computers so step by step instructions if someone can, that would be awsome!!

get your hard drive out of your laptop
find out if it's SATA or PATA
buy a hard drive enclosure

for future reference:
buy an external hard drive
back up your files.

This or put it in another computer and backup from that.

Wait 5 hours
Be accused by the promoter of being late
Get told we have only a 10 minute set
Play pure noise for 10 minutes

Worst and most amusing gig of my life.

Anyone else had this kind of **** happen?!

Dimebag had a worse gig.

Or if you had the tech you could have taken a "forensic" copy of the hard drive after taking it out.

You don't have to take a "forensic" copy. You just have to plug it into another computer. And you don't need any advanced technology. Just a cable that allows you to use laptop hard drives on a desktop, or an external enclosure.
