I'm thinking of buying an epi les paul custom or black beauty.
I've owned a standard previously.
I didn't realy dig the stock pick ups so my question is: what are the best (quality for money) pup's for me.
I play from classic rock to post-rock and I play in a doom/sludge band.
Cleans are important but I already own a tele so maybe switching guitars in really clean songs would be a good idea.
The thing I'm really searching for is a heavier tone then my tele.
kind of isis, tool, mastodon sounding.

cheers

What amp are you using?

Assuming it's good a Duncan Custom in the bridge with a 59 in the neck would work a treat.

seymour duncans are a good bet. Ive heard good things about Jeff Becks and 59's, so maybe give those a try?

yeah i definitely recommend the JB for the bridge and a Jazz for the neck

I'm not really rich.
I'm thinking of two options.
The first is just replacing the bridge in my tele with a stacked hot rail, so I would have about 80% humbucker tone in my bridge and still nice cleans in the neck. (this would be about 100eu)
Or just buying an epi used (about 300eu) and I would have another 100 for the pick-ups.
It's not really about the money for me but about the best tone.

a hughes and kettner tube 50 with 412 celestion greenback cab.
Would those pup's fit the type of music I want to play?
Sorry for double posting.

iron gears are made in the uk
they go for about half the price of seymour duncans and they are very well made
a pair of iron gear rolling mills would go nice in the les paul
they also do single coil sized humbuckers

u can only ship from england but i checked how much and its not much
