could someone here who has some experience mixing and mastering for home recordings possibly write an article for UG on the topic? i'm sure i'm not the only one who would appreciate it.

There's a thread somewher in the Pit right now where people are signing up to mix/master a sample track, writing about how they did it. Might be useful.

an article? you could easily fill a library with writing about Mixing.
it would be cool if someone was willing to write a series on the basics though, but this topic is vast.
