I'd say S I didn't really care for this model RG when I played it. The S on the other hand felt great.

I'm more concerned over overalll sound quality, the ability to play metal while nice in other types of clean music too and easy to play. I heard the S520EX is light..

If that's the case then get the RG, if you don't like a guitar then simply that's just that and nothing can be done about it so find a guitar that suits you very much.
