I'm testing out for Algebra 1 tomorrow, and I was given the practice test yesterday, and I was looking at the practice test, and it said " Find the magnitude and direction of v." and I was like WTF? this can't be the right test???
Anyone ever learn how to find the magnitude and direction of a letter in Algebra One??? I talked to a friend today, and he said " I've never learned anything like that. That can't be algebra one."

EDIT i mean direction, not vector

Magnitude is just an amount, a quantity, and a vector is a magnitude in a specific direction.

Yes, that's about basic algebraic stuff.

Um, magnitudes and vectors are fairly elementary stuff, but that question you quoted is phrased stupidly.. if it said find the magnitude and direction of vector v (v should have an arrow over top of it) then that would make sense.

So yeah, vectors aren't complicated, but I don't know what should be included in "algebra one" so I can't help ya.

Well according to this guy, the question should be easier to answer now.

But that's basically the stuff I was taught for my GCSE.
