Nope. He doesn't even use distortion on Kill 'em All except for Anesthesia and a few fills here and there.

yes, he did.
Or, at least he did for Master of Puppets, and Ride the Lightning (I think)

Youtube the basslines for some of his songs (I think available because of rockband, and access to the master tapes or something).

You can tell he definitelydistorts the bass, which I tihnk I think is another reason he got buied in the mix by the third album.
Rig of Doom:
1. Custom Warmoth Fretless Jazz
2. Geddy Lee Jazz (backup)
3. Fender Precision
Through:
VOX Pathfinder Bass 10
Soon to run through:

I wouldn't call what we have here on the Bass Forum a mentality. It's more like the sharing part of an AA meeting.

Does he phase that bit at the start or is it just a "wall of sound" type thing?

I thought it was synth, phaze and a slight overdrive. At least that's the closest I've gotten to it.

Okay guys, I have a confession to make. Not really a confession since it's something that's been bugging me for awhile but I've always been in denial about it.

**** you gilly, it's not what you think
