It's hard to find a decent old school looking Les Paul, if you're a lefty. I found a 5 month Vintage V100 Tobacco Sunburst, cost me 170 euros - a real bargain
Les Paul is my favourite, I love how it sounds. This guitar is going to be my main instrument. I'm detuning my good old ESP/LTD for Black Sabbath - YES, I play their music a lot

My other favourites are Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, Rush etc.

I'm planning to install:

1) Grover 135N Vintage tuners
2) Göldö Vintage bone nut
3) Seymour Duncan SSH JB hot rodded humbucker set - SH-2N jazz humbucker (neck) and SH-4 JB (bridge)

But is it worth replacing the original tailpiece and bridge?

Best wishes,
Uku

That's a pretty awful choice as far as pickups goes, poor choice tonally and not great value over here.

Get some Rock Monkeys.

Two things I especially like about V100's are the Wilkinson tuners and the very Gibsonesque pups. I would certainly replace the basic bridge with a Schaller, though.

Lurcher has a good point, the pickups in the V100 are already pretty good.

I'd advise keeping them for a while and seeing how you like them, if you were looking to change them then I'd advise a Duncan Custom 5 in the bridge with a pearly gates in the neck.

That'll give you more top end and bite in the bridge as well as more power and a slightly more modern, less woody tone, you'll still get your softer tones in the neck though, just with a teeny bit of added sizzle.

If you just want a little more power and grit then you could just stick a pair of Pearly Gates in there.

I'm going for the Swineshead hand-made humbuckers. Couple of good friends have them on Yamaha Pacifica, Greg Bennett Samick Avion AV-7 and Ibanez ARC300 - all sounded great and the price is also reasonable.
