i always wait till after the first class to see if the professor says we dont need the book, then i amazon the ones i need. i may miss a week of homework, but i save at least 60% off the lame bookstores.

you can get 2nd hand books from other students online, google it. Alot cheaper than buying new or buying 2nd hand

I do the same thing, goto class and find out what you will actually be using your book for, and if its not needed nightly don't buy one because your school library should be able to check one out to you in times of need (such as before a test).

Thanks, I emailed one of my future professors and I can take 2 books back.

So overall, I spent about $500 for books....

Stanford isn't cheap man.

Haha I can afford them, yes... But I don't come from a rich familia... we were actually very poor
