I think they had better songs in their early years. It sounded great and the lyrics were good and the guitar riffs were better. The new Metallica to me seems not as good as the first songs they had, what do you guys think ?

Kill, Lightning, Puppets, Justice, and Black are some of the greatest albums ever made. Everything after Master of Puppets wasn't all that good without cliff tho and after the Black album they burnt out and never did anything really amazing after. So old Metallica is best.

kill em all is my fave album, the 90s wasnt a good time, even the black album im not a huge fan of, the songs dont have the edge i like from earlier stuff, although im still a fan of black, load and reload there are some class songs on them all, st anger, well its not metallica really is it? but i still like it its a good album, no real standout tracks and not exactly the classic metallica style i like but still good, however death magnetic is a call back to the 80s heyday of metallica, and its an amzing album, every song is brilliant, the band are back at their best after an almost 20 year off period, but all in all i think i prefer old metallica as opposed to new metallica

Holy shit, there isn't a single period in there.

And Metallica thread.
Josh Homme writes the greatest lyrics EVAR:
"I wish we could get away
Drink wine and screw"

"Nicotine, valium, vicodin, marijuana, ecstasy, and alcohol
C-C-C-C-Cocaine!"

"I wanna lick you too much"
