Anybody else experience that? I have to get up and move around for a couple of hours before I play guitar...otherwise it sounds like I jumped a year back in my ability to play, haha. My fingers become pretty stiff (no morning wood jokes, please ) while I'm asleep, I guess, and it's hard to play without becoming tense.

Is this a normal sort of thing, or what? They're not swollen or discolored or whatever...and they have a full range of motion...they're just much less nimble.

Warming up, which you should be doing anyway helps on that. even in the wee hours

Oh, of course I warm up, haha. Chromatic exercises and some quick riffs focusing on picking, legato, and bends mostly. Those still don't help much, I usually just have to wait it out...

It scares me that someday I might have a gig lined up in the morning and I'll make a fool of myself because my fingers can't move... ;_;

If he was lefty, he would need to fap with his right hand.

Nice try though

The tips of my fingers feel very strectched, and my thumb feels odd all the time. I hate to say it, but it sticks out like a sore thumb...

When i get up, my fingers are about as nimble as a dead crab. I can actually hear the joints squeak like they're rusted or something. Then I pop every joint and do some warmups and I'm fine.

honestly it sounds a bit like carpal tunnel

He'd have some pain in the wrist then wouldn't he?

I went through a stage of a couple days where my left hand's fingers were incredibly slow. Not only when playing guitar, but while texting on my cell phone I was unbelievably slow with my left thumb for some reason...

It passed after awhile and I don't have problems anymore. It should get better.
