I'm pretty sure there is some old, classic tale about a joker and thief. Hence why there was a folk song about it. Just a story getting passed down generation to generation.

It isn't that bad, it's just words. It's like Whiskey In The Jar by Thin Lizzy, or traditional but no one cares, and Molly's Chamber by the Kings Of Leon. It's hardly like they stole the chord progression or riff anything like that.
