Ohhhhhhh. No, you can get internal preamps - in programs on the computer.

Use one of these:

Get them a t most electronic stores.

EDIT:

I use Guitar -> cable -> Blackstar DIST-X (acts as preamp) -> (Speaker Emulated Output) -> cable -> adapter (shown above) -> Computer

dude there are a ****load of hardware options. ihave the new UX2 package. its really awesome. the hardware gives loads of unputs into the pc, and is connected via USB
its kinda expensive tho, but there are alot ofcheaper options, like smaller hardwar options like the M audio one; it goes all the way down to a simple cable. in one end isthe guitar, and the other is the usb. this mite not give good quality tho.

[quote="'[BurnTheDusk"]']How big is your guitar?

touche

Even with a plug to go directly into the computer, it'll sound like sundried fart in a can. 90% of soundcards just won't be able to handle it.

Grab a line6 GX and be done with it.

He was saying because you wrote "guitar into computer" and in the OP, you wrote "but i need to actually stick my guitar into my pc". Think about it.

Your guitar needs to be pretty small for that.

^^It is good thats what i have and i dont use an interface. My sound still come through fine and sounding good as long as you change the preferances to studio quality in control panel. But i would advice using some sort of pedal before it or it is fairly quiet even with the 30db bosst turned on in control panel.
