when i try to play along with some backtracks or songs on youtube (pathetic maybe ) but the tuning is always messed up.. what can i do to match the pitchs?

Know which tuning the backing track was recorded in.

A lot of artists tune a half step flat. If you're playing along to Hendrix, SRV, Van Halen and a ton of other stuff, the backing track was designed to sound authentic, so it's also a half step down from standard tuning.

Okay guys, I have a confession to make. Not really a confession since it's something that's been bugging me for awhile but I've always been in denial about it.

**** you gilly, it's not what you think

Tune to Eb, or whatever to original song is in. It should say on the tab.

and if you're using an electric tuner make sure its set to 440. I think the normal korg tuner has an up and down arrow to adjust this.
