DO NOT MAKE FUN OF TS' BANDS !!
I WILL REPORT

if you can find a Mesa Rectifier go with that, but a Peavey 6505+ is also a good cheaper choice.

Do it.

Mall metal isn't hardcore...

...but anyways, the 6505 2x12 combo is probably close to what you're looking for. Or, if it's in budget a 3120 head and a 2x12 cab might work. Also, are there any brands that specialize in the Australian market? If there's something local, that'll save you loads.

He means he doesn't want the people helping you to make fun of you for liking mall metal.

When you see 5150, don't think EVH, although it is his sig amp, think millions of thrash metal, death metal, metalcore, deathcore, crust punk, hardcore, grindcore and popcore bands along with some nu metal, pop punk and modern rock bands. The 5150 is a very tight and heavy sounding amp and well suited to heavier stuff then Van Halen.

When I asked about local brands, I didn't mean stores so much as local builders, like in Canada Traynor amps are pretty cheap, or in the UK Marshalls and Oranges are a better deal then elsewhere.

I'm pretty fond of the Kerry King JCM800's tone. I'm pretty fond of JCM800s in general... If you can deal with the silly graphics, the JCM800KK might be well suited.

DON'T UNDERESTIMATE THE POWER OF THE EVH 5150 III. yeah yeah its a bit pricey some would say but it falls in your budget. I pretty much play underoath, attack attack, devil wears prada, and could do House Vs Hurricane easy. Hey man at guitar centers they don't let you crank it and its usually embarrassing when people do but when if turn this beast up it will wreck your balls. The low end from the third channel is amazing. Amps like the 6505 or the old 5150 are hella beefy but with bands like the ones you listed you want good clarity. I've played randalls marshalls peavey evh is where its at with your genre. Of course all the bands you listed actually use mesa boogie double/or triple rectifiers. But of course as an owner of a 5150 III i'm extremely bias towards it. but hey don't listen to me try everything out but make sure to crank it so you can hear the head really speak.
