Hey all,

My Edwards Les Paul started acting up on me tonight. I can't really get it to make any sound unless I'm touching the metal shielding of the jack that butts up to the guitar (not the male end itself, just the metal part that hangs over the cable). I tried tightening the jack by taking off the access panel and I still get the same result.

I've tried on two different amps as well. Instead of a note sounding, I get heavy static. The fact that I touch the metal shielding and the note sounds makes me think there may be a ground issue but I can't figure out why the heck it would happen when not 30 minutes ago it was playing fine?

maybe the input jack inside your guitar itself is messed up and is touching, might make it staticy, try looking inside your guitars input jack

since you have two guitars did you try it with each one?

well then yeah you might have to wait to either check with a new guitar or a new amp or check your guitars jack
