After analyzing my playing for a while I notice that a major problem in my technique is being able to cross strings quickly and accurately, which you need to play fast runs.

I found this article for a "new" picking technique: http://www.hodosy-music.com/flatpick.html that supposedly helps you cross strings better.
I'm not sure if it is a new technique. I can't tell how to do the technique either because the article is sort of confusing with the diagrams and all.

Also if anyone has any tips on how to get better at string crossing that would be great. I know how to string cross 3 and 4 notes per string fairly well, but have problems crossing 1 and 2 notes per string fast and accurately.

it's practise I guess. Practise and as soon as you nail it keep going still!!

Somewhere in a concert hall in Sweden, you have just caused Yngwie Malmsteen physical pain. You also caused him to catch on fire.
