Last week I learned "get to the choppa" and this week I learned "fire on the mountain". Two very different songs. I am always switching up my genres of music. Maybe I should stick to one thing if I plan on being a guitar hero, what do you guys think? And what even is the most popular genre in this day and age?

Hell no man. If you stick to one style you're gonna sound like something we've heard hundreds times before. Learn as many different things as you can, it will help you develop your own style.
