I think it's nice, some organizations need the extra help.

That being said I'm not allowed into Boy Scouts of America again.

Exactly. They can't make you work if you don't have the time.

On the note, if you have trouble finding jobs, make sure you put all the hours that you're available when you apply. Don't just put you can't work at 9pm simply because you wanna be home at that time.

Go for it , imo its better to get experience than getting nothign at all. It'll also give employers a good impression when you apply in the future.

I know a girl who did this and quite after she got a job easily , saved up , college and is now going to Hollywood in a year or so to do acting.

If it benefits me in some way. I'm a photographer, so I've offered to teach kids at the boys and girls club in the photography program about lighting and digital photography. I've also offered my services to MADD and other non-profit and charity organizations. I would have got exposure and practice at my craft.

Maybe one day, some one will take me up on it.

Ye Libarary jobs are pretty good. To be honest my first job was when I was 14 or something , worked 12 hours a day at my uncles fruit job and earned £5 lololol

I was like ye I worked at a multi corporation company called <Insert uncles shop here> where I developed skills such as shelf stacking , unloading the van and sometimes , yes sometimes I got a sneaky shot at the till.

With all that experience I then moved onto Asda was there for 2 years haha :P

In my whole entire life I have only received money for 1 musical performance. For the past 2 years of my life I have averaged about 1 live performance per week. I would say that counts as volunteer work... you're providing entertainment for free.
