Hey UG'ers...

yeah so i have a big problem i need a new amp and i LOVE to play metal, but i went to a music store today and i found a fender ultimate chorus... and my dad loves it and wants to get that one he, loves jazz and blues but dislikes metal.. and he wants me to use it too, now don't get me wrong, i also love jazz and blues, but that thing goes up to classic rock at MOST with the distortion.

So guys, tell me, if i get that amp can i do anything to make it sound the slightest bit metal???

... i play thrash metal

Start plugging in pedals and see what you can make happen. Also amp modeling may be the way to go.

This. The chorus on the amp can only kick your sound up a notch when combining it with dist and overdrive pedals.

My bad, didn't see that. Do you have a budget to how much you want to spend?

depends what you mean...

for an amp or for a pedal that can make it sound a little more metal

Since you named the amp already. It's the pedal budget that's important.

Budget for an amp, and budget for a pedal, both would be helpful.

amp= USD 350 or below (the amp is used)
pedal= 120 or below

Barber Dirty Bomb is the first thing that comes to mind in that price range, but you really need to try some things with the amp.
