Riffs and technique.
I like to put funk into rock but sometimes you get stuck finding a riff. I like to play with a line and throw something into the end of it (I stole it from The Who. Shhhh!). I just want something that stands out instead of being one of those guys that follows every move of the guitar player. I guess what I'm asking is, how do you go about utilizing the whole neck?
Two string scales. I'm not gonna write a tab for it, it's better to figure it out yourself anyways. And lots of practice. It worked for me.
Theory is not a bunch of chords. It's how notes and chords interact with each other to make music. But that's just my opinion.
I learned some good stuff in theory. None of which I found applicable to bass. (Not arguing) give me an example of how I can use theory for...... I don't know, Reggae? And don't just say scales.
