No better or worse than the Vyper or Marshal MG...DEFINATELY better than the Spider.

don't buy it just because I said so...
do your own research on it, read reviews at harmony central,
Try it out a guitar store
etc...

But yes, I say buing a good Tube amp (regardless of brand) kicks the crap out of the 3 solid state amps you're considering.

2001 Ernie Ball Music Man Axis Super Sport
2001 MIM Standard Strat
Peavey Classic 30 112 Combo.

Used fender super champ XD.

Budget tube amp with a great sound and a lot of tone options. Also,it's loud for a 15 watt amp.

EDIT: You can actually find them new on Ebay for $300 w/ free shipping. This amp destroys the thee you list in the poll,so check it out. There's a bunch of demo videos and reviews for it on youtube, which will give you an idea of what it sounds like.

Ok don't use the Marshall MG, its not very good, and you can find better amps in that price range. Don't get it just because it says Marshall.

The Spider III is even worse, don't get that either.
Breaking stereotypes by playing indie on a metal guitar.

What are you using this amp for? Bedroom practice/band rehearsal/gigging? Cause if you're just using it for bedroom practice then there are plenty of 5 watt tube amps you could get.

Lolwut?

You said punk... then... DOES NOT COMPUTE.

Anyways, get the Peavey. Then get yourself a Propagandhi CD.

you want rawness yet you`ve listed modelling amps which are crammed with fx that you don`t want

The fact that you have built in FX doesn't mean you need to use them. 90% of my presets on my POD are totally dry, with nothing but whatever the model I'm using's distortion.

You want to go deaf? Yeah just keep using the line 6 then and put it on the insane channel and turn all the volume to 10 and put your ear next to the speaker

I think you missed what I was saying, poppy alternative =/= punk, then I gave you an amazing and reasonably accessible pop punk/melodic hardcore band to listen to.

Out of the three, the Vyper
Other suggestions-

Blackstar HT combo

If you go used you have alot more options.

-Gibson LP VM
-Silvertone Kentucky Blue
-MXR CC Delay
-Ibanez TS-9
-Egnater Rebel 20
-Avatar 1x12

My rig is simple
Haha. UG's Chuck just said chuck. haha

TS, you should really check out the amps listed above! WAY WAY better than any of the 3 you are asking about.

BTW, "Marshall MG" and "melts faces" should never be used in the same sentence!

thought about any of the vox valvetronix???

they got tons of on board effects and amp models!

I've had mine for a year now and its tons better than my mates MG series marshall!

plus the vox VT have tubes in the circiut so they sound ace! only downer is mine weighs a ton! so check out the smaller ones rather than the 50 watt!
