I got guitar pro from limewire, then i got the real sound engine (RSE), installed, but when i use guitar pro, theres still that ringtone-like sound, how do i properly set up the RSE?

go buy it, its worth it.

Also you can use tuxguitar instead, it is very good also, I didnt know of it before I bought GP5...

BUT tabs have a separate option for RSE, it annoys me becuase if the author doesn't use RSE then you have to remember to change it, and I never do :/ So if they *fixed* that annoyance you should go buy it :p
