Listen to all the old Motown artists:

The Temptations
The Four Tops
Jackson 5
Smokey Robinson
Martha and the Vandellas
early Stevie Wonder
Diana Ross and the Miracles

Loads of others (all with the legendary bass playing of James Jamerson)

I really don't listen to a lot of music before the mid 60s, so I dunno.

Buddy Holly, Howlin Wolf, The Temptations, and Chuck Berry is all I can recommend.

Its not about the Radio its about talent, the front man has a bigger vocal range than Micheal Jackson and he can sing from heavey metal to high pitched ...No.12 on the top 20 under rated guitarists of ALL TIME...etc
