ACRYLIC SPLINTERS FROM A PAINTED CROSS

Splinter the white lies
‘Til all the colors bleed
With your painted nails
Won’t you crucify me

And I’ll be a sign post
At the crossroads of your life
To remind you that true love
Is all about sacrifice

In a romance tongue
You can you hear my love cry,
“Yo no estoy muerto
Pero no estoy vivo
Afuera tu puerta”

Sometimes the fork in the road
Looks like the Devil’s trident
And the only safe route
Is to go back in hidin’
But if you hold my hand
Where the stigmata fell
I’ll light a heavenly path
With the embers of Hell

Out into the wild
In the winter of love
All your cold shoulders
Left your little heart numb

So you cut down the tree
Where our names had been carved
But the fire from that wood
Will never keep you warm

In a romance tongue
You can hear my love cry,
“Yo no estoy muerto
Pero no estoy vivo
Afuera tu puerta”

Sometimes the fork in the road
Looks like the Devil’s trident
And the only safe route
Is to go back in hidin’
But if you hold my hand
Where the stigmata fell
I’ll light a heavenly path
With the embers of Hell

I should light up your world
With this passion that burns
But all it does is create
Ashes inside an urn

No love is not dead yet
But it fades from memory
Like a picture perfect scene
From some shattered dream

I tend to find your work hit and miss, and your last few pieces before this one seemed to all be sitting on the same idea and the same feel and the same style, and it got kinda bland. but this piece is amazing. Really, really strong and at the same time enjoyable and catchy and very much singable. The rhythms and flow are perfect, the rhymes don't hinder the piece at all. I wish you would record so I could listen.

I was going to say it sounds somewhat like The Mars Volta, then I realized your user name is themarsvolta. The spanish was a nice touch, obviously with the TMV influence, I'll look up the translation for the words in a bit.

I wasn't a big fan of the "Devil's Trident" part, seemed kinda cheesy in my opinion, but I'm not a big fan of tridents
